![]() Maybe I'll upgrade my black and decker standard drill bits when I have a need for something but that need has not come yet and what I have have isn't suitable anymore but again had these for years and years and they've been fine. I got Bosch masonry bits cuz why not have quality? I got maxium cheapie brand tile bits and they worked fine putting up a shower curtain rod through the hard ass ceramic tiles. If you're not a pro and aren't pushing your tools all day, every day, what you have is fine.Īll that being said I just got a set of the impact bits at home depot for like, 40 bucks, and it's 127 pieces or something ridiculous like that. It's not as durable or nearly as powerful, sure it's not, but damn it's SO freaking light and can do so many things. ![]() Fact is my Black And Decker 20 volt matrix drill is still my goto for basic things. If you need a hammer drill to make 100 holes in a row yea maybe Ryobi will die on that task. Otherwise, you might just break it and make it unusable. But just to make sure you do it right, be sure to use impact rated drill bits on an impact driver. All you have to do is insert a hex shank drill bit to an impact driver. I also have a black and decker matrix system drill that I use for freaking everything. Yes, you can actually drill with an impact driver. I got tools that will last and a ton of pros use. Learned important lesson about shoving big bits into small chucks.I just bought a home and invested in the whole Milwaukee line but don't buy into that hype. Recycled the old one, got a new drill, light is in a much better place. I found out there was a Milwaukee Took repair shop nearby, but at this point, I just couldn't bear it to bring this half disassembled drill to someone to A) still get the bit out because I was still unsuccessful and B) Reassemble the darn thing. I also got a really good view as to how well these things are made. I'm pretty sure it comes together in a delicate balance that looks like a ballet because wow, a lot of stuff has to line up super well. Then I took it apart and gained a whole new respect for the people that assemble these things. For the life of me I couldn't get the bit out of the chuck. But if you can do it with pure force, then that's what I probably did. I'm not totally positive what cold welding is. Went to home depot and they wanted 50 bucks for a Milwaukee step drill bit. but I have been starting to buy cheap ones to keep in stock. Well, I can say that battery drained quickly, but that drill was a trooper. If you really need to drill thick stainless with HSS+titanium Neiko bit, you can do it. So I got this giant auger bit that just BARELY fit inside my drill. I have a much larger Milwaukee Drill bit set (35 bits) and I bought this set to replace some of my lost/broken bits. I have lost a couple bits and also broke some of the smaller bits due to mistakes on my part or the bits just being overused. I wanted to drill some holes in a stump so my kid could hide stuff for a neighborhood geocache kinda thing. Ive used these bits for years now and theyve never let me down.
